We then headed to our Residence and took awhile getting ourselves settled in. Here's a little insight on the culture shock in terms of living: We have the worlds tiniest triple, with a bunk bed and one single and the closets are strange here and basically go all the way up to the ceiling (which is basically a nightmare to have to stand on a chair to reach anything). It took me (literally) 6 minutes to figure out how to flush the toilet (because the flush button is located in the shower). The couch in the living room is actually a mattress which has proven to be really uncomfortable because there is no back to it. The outlets are also pretty annoying, but that was expected.
By 11am we had all of our things unpacked (mostly thrown around), and decided to sleep until 5. We got up and followed some other kids to the University which was a 40 minute walk. We got lost more than a few times, in which my limited Italian language skills helped return us to safety.
Highlight of my night: We ate Italian pizza, which is (obviously) not like pizza in the US. Its all square, and very, very thin. However, it was delicious. I chose to eat the pizza option with broccoli and sausage, which are just about my two favorite things. So my day ended on a high note.
These are a few pictures from our wanderings around the city. Basically, everything is f*%#ing adorable.
